Cakes & Pastries Photography Workshop (Group)
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This workshop is a specialized, 3-hour intensive designed to take the guesswork out of food photography. For many bakers and creators, the "perfect shot" is often a race against the setting sun. We are here to change that.
This workshop focuses exclusively on Artificial Lighting—the secret weapon of professional food photographers. You will learn how to manipulate light to accentuate the velvety texture of buttercream, the crystalline shine of a mirror glaze, and the delicate layers of a croissant. Through live demonstrations and hands-on "Action," we will move beyond basic snapshots to create high-end, commercial-quality imagery that sells.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This workshop is designed for anyone who wants their pastries to look as delicious as they taste. It is ideal for:
-
Pastry Chefs & Home Bakers: Wanting to showcase their craft.
-
Cake Business Owners: Looking to create high-converting imagery for websites, menus, and delivery apps (UberEats/DoorDash) without hiring a pro every week.
-
Content Creators & Food Bloggers: Seeking to build a consistent, "high-end" aesthetic for Instagram and TikTok, regardless of their kitchen's natural light.
-
Aspiring Food Photographers: Who want to master the specific technical challenges of shooting reflective and textured food items.

James Goh
Had such a meaningful 1-on-1 intermediate food photography workshop with Bene at his cozy home studio today. ✨
He completely opened up my perspective — breaking down those tiny details I never even noticed before.
Loved how patiently he explained light falloff, modifier control, and all the pro techniques behind beautiful food shots. 📸🍽️
Already excited to come back for his advanced course soon!
I attended Bene Tan’s Food Photography Immediate Course over two days and learned so much! The patience and care in teaching from understanding light metering to post production editing were really appreciated. In just two days I gained so much insights into side and back lighting and I was so excited to immediately apply them to my work. ( Am attaching some of the photos that I used Bene's teachings to my own work)
What stood out most was how approachable Bene is. You will never feel afraid to ask questions as he takes the time to explain everything clearly.
A big thank you to Bene, Ada and of course Sunday for making the two days such an enjoyable and enriching learning experience!
