ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

With over a decade of experience, Bene will share with you his proven technique that he has mastered throughout the years. This intermediate food photography workshop is specially designed for photographers who wish to learn how to take better quality and mouth-watering food images using studio lighting. In this workshop you will also learn different types of lighting techniques and tricks of trade.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Photographers who already have some basic food photography knowledge and wish to learn more about food photography using studio lighting.

​

REQUIREMENT / PREREQUISITE

  • DSLR or Mirrorless camera. Bring along a 50 to 100mm macro lens if you have one.

  • Camera & lens will be provided if you don’t own a DSLR camera and lenses.

  • Good knowledge of Basic Photography & Basic Food Photography.

  • Good working knowledge of your camera.

  • You will need to submit your portfolio for review.

WORKSHOP OUTLINE

  • Introduction.

  • Understand about the camera and setting.

  • Understand the type of lens to use for food photography.

  • Understand about conceptualisation and creating a food story.

  • Understand & working with the “Hero”.

  • Understand the necessity & studio equipment used.

  • Introduction to food and props styling.

  • Learn how to control Exposure for studio strobe (Aperture, Shutter Speed & ISO).

  • Understand white balance and how to custom white balance.

  • Understand Light metering.

  • Understand Lighting control.

  • Understand about Lighting ratio.

  • Learn the different types of lighting techniques and set-up.

  • Explanation and Demo of High Key lighting.

  • Explanation and Demo of Low Key lighting.

  • Photo Editing & Workflow.

  • Self practice with guidance.

  • Review & Critique session.

Workshop includes theory and practical session.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Fees must be paid in full prior to the start of the workshop.

  • Withdrawal or failure to turn up will result in the loss of the full course fee.
